Noisy lifters on my 03 Lightning

No tommygunn it was running ok no noise at all,but after I race in the freeway the next morning start the noise.I will check other forums for reference and see what can I find,and yes this time the mechanic-in-a-bottle didn’t work ,but the MMO it’s a excellent product I’m still use it in my other trucks.thank you guys for all the tips and time.....

ahh, that may explain the noise.  If you are racing the engine, you may need a heavier weight oil to compensate for the high temperatures during your racing of the engine.......and as previously mentioned, may be time for “mechanical” adjustments, etc....

I would never use MMO w/ 5w20, especially in a 380HP engine!

There isn’t anything wrong w/ 5w20 at all. Just remember though, 5w30 was the original grade for that engine and won’t hurt a thing.

Many times, people get a bit sensitive about MFG recommendations(5w20 was mostly a CAFE thing). I’m not saying run a 5w40 or anything, but if I owned a Lightning and raced it, I would use 5w30 with or without MMO.
