My TR7 engine was professionally rebuilt by a competent speed shop over 12 years ago. It has sat un-installed for that entire period of time. It has been inside a garage with a cover over the engine and stand. I am now preparing to install it in the TR. I have sprayed about 3 oz of MMO in the cylinders through the spark plug holes and sprayed the cam and lifters.
Any suggestions as to what else I should do for preparing it to start.
What oil should I use in the engine and how much mmo should i put in the oil?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Let it set for a week, then try to rotate the fly wheel or how ever u can rotate the crank, be sure u have oil in ur engine ( 10w30 should be fine, there are many fine oils out there, I use mobile one synthetic, but u probably have ur favorite.  I would use only 12 oz of mmo to a 4 qt system.  Run it on a test stand if u have one.  Saturday I poured 4 oz off mmo into my brake booster line and let it set 30 min.  When I started the engine, it smoked for sometime, killed all the skeeters in the yard, smoked real good , then I drove it around the town .  I do that from time to time.

Several people are saying to use a good hi Zink level oil for the break-in (first 500 miles or so) for the break-in period. I always use Royal Purple in my other vehicles and have over 260,000 miles on my 97 Lincoln with no problems.
Will the MMO replace this hi zink necessity?

On our older versions of Marvel Mystery Oil, we always recommended using MMO as a break-in oil.  With newer engines, this break-in oil is no longer necessary.  However, with an engine that was rebuilt 12 years ago, I would recommend replacing 25 % of the motor oil with Marvel Mystery Oil.
